Surprise! Our weekly update is here a day early! This post contains a bunch of important information as we move into the final stretch of this inaugural Blue Crabs season. Get comfortable and happy reading!

MIGHTY MINI MEET RECAP

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our Mighty Mini Meet this morning! It was a blast cheering on our super swimmers as many of them competed in their first swim meet.

None of our fun events can happen without your help, so thank you so much to the many of you who played a part in making it happen with everything from timing to take-down. Special thanks to our clerk of course volunteers, and especially Cesar Renzi who stepped up big time making sure swimmers were where they needed to be when they needed to be there. Also, a big thanks to Jim Higgins for getting the ice that made our snow-cones possible! THIS WEEK’S SWIM MEET

This week we will be swimming against the Whittier Riptides on Saturday. The meet will begin at 8 AM and swimmers should arrive before 7:15 AM to check-in with the coaches and be ready for warm-ups.

The meet theme will be Pirates and Mermaids and the pool address is 2000 E. Greenleaf Drive, Frederick, MD 21702. The Riptides have requested that we park along East Greenleaf Drive and NOT along Tuscany Drive. Also, please do not block any driveways.

Swimmer Declaration: Whether you plan to attend the meet or not, please take a moment to declare whether your swimmer will be “attending” or “not attending” the meet. In order to participate in the meet, this must be completed no later than Tuesday, July 4 at 9:00 PM. And since it’s highly unlikely that you will be doing this on the evening of the 4^th, please plan on doing this earlier in the day.

A couple of other notes for the meet: the concession stand at Whittier is only able to accept cash. Please plan accordingly. Finally, we are still in need of volunteers for the meet this weekend. If you can take a moment to sign-up to help out, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

IMPORTANT END OF SEASON INFORMATION

• Division 4 Championship: For most of our swimmers (except for those who have qualified for all-stars), the season will conclude with the Division 4 meet on July 22. This meet will be hosted by the Landsdale Lightning and they have made T-Shirts available for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a Divisional shirt then you must submit a pre-order here. Payment (cash or Venmo) will be due when you pick up the shirt on the 22^nd. Please submit one form per shirt. All pre-orders must be submitted before July 5^th.
• End of Season Banquet: To celebrate this fantastic season we will be having an end of season banquet the evening of July 22. Please RSVP here. The plan is to have some pool games from 5:00-6:00 followed by dinner, awards, and a slideshow. We are then planning on showing a movie for anyone who wants to stick around afterward starting around 7:30. We are in the process of planning this event and would love your assistance. If you are interested in helping with the planning, putting together the slide show, or if you have any connections with any local restaurants or businesses who might want to help sponsor our dinner, we would love to hear from you!
