    Hi Blue Crabs!

    We had a great meet on Saturday with the Whittier Riptides! Thank you to everyone who gave of your time (and your sweat—it was humid!) to make it happen. You can view the results from the meet here and photos from the meet are available here.

    Once again, we want to take a moment to recognize so many of the great achievements from our meet this past week. We had 67 swimmers achieve personal bests!     We also want to recognize our high point scorers who finished first in each of their events an amassed 20 points each. Well done Amir Hussein, Tarek Hussein, Kyleigh Kauflin, and Alberto Nevares! We also had big numbers put up by Mason Garmon (18 points), Matix Garmon (16), Korey Kauflin (14), Anabella Edgar (12), Kaitlyn Kauflin (11), Dakota Dove (10), Eric Yi (10), Aubree Carr (9), and Grace O’Malley (9).

    Even if your name is not on either of these lists, we are so proud of each and every one of you and all of your hard work so far this season!


    THIS WEEK’S SWIM MEET

    This week we will be hosting the PVYA Brunswick River Rapids on Saturday. The meet will begin at 8 AM and swimmers should arrive before 7:00 AM to check-in with the coaches and be ready for warm-ups at 7:05. Put on your Santa hat for our meet theme: Christmas in July.

    • Swimmer Declaration: Whether you plan to attend the meet or not, please take a moment to declare whether your swimmer will be “attending” or “not attending” the meet. In order to participate in the meet, this must be completed no later than Tuesday, July 11 at 9:00 PM.
    • Volunteer Opportunities: Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us build a culture of service, fun, and community and to the many of you who have already signed up to help run our meet this Saturday. We have just a handful of volunteer slots still to fill. You can sign up for them here.

    MPORTANT END OF SEASON INFORMATION

    • Division 4 Championship: The Division 4 Championship meet will be held on July 22. Swimmers will be eligible to sign-up to swim up to three individual events. This meet will be hosted by Landsdale and they have made T-Shirts available for purchase, but this form must be submitted for pre-order by tonight (July 9). Payment (cash or Venmo) will be due when you pick up the shirt on the 22nd.
    • End of Season Banquet: To celebrate this fantastic season we will be having an end of season banquet the evening of July 22. Please RSVP here. The plan is to have some pool games from 5:00-6:00 followed by dinner, awards, and a slideshow. We are then planning on showing a movie for anyone who wants to stick around afterward starting around 7:30. We are in the process of planning this event and would love to hear from you if you would like to help pull this final event off. If you are interested in helping with the planning, putting together the slide show, or if you have any connections with any local restaurants or businesses who might want to help sponsor our dinner, please email [email protected] to let us know.
    • Team & Individual Photo Pick-Up: Our photos are here! If you ordered a team or individual photo, we will have them available for pick-up from 9:00 to 9:30 and 10:30 to 11:00 on Monday and 4:45-5:15 on Tuesday. We also have a limited number of 8x10 team photos available for order if anyone is interested. Those will be available for purchase during these same times ($15/ea, cash or venmo).

    • Blue Crabs Practice: 8 & under from 4:00-4:45 PM, 9 & over from 5:15-6:00 PM

    • Home Meet vs. Brunswick: Our meet will begin at 8:00 AM. The meet theme is Christmas in July. Please arrive before 7:00 to have your swimmer(s) checked-in for the meet. Swimmer warm-ups will be from 7:05-7:25 AM. Additional meet information is available here.
