Blue Crabs: Week of June 17-23

    Hi Blue Crabs!

What a meet yesterday! Our meet against Lake Linganore embodied everything we want to be about as a team and community.

    • GROWTH: swimmer’s showed tremendous growth as 103(!) swimmers improved their times and got to bang away on the PR Pot hanging from our team tent!
    • ENCOURAGEMENT: accomplishments were celebrated, teammates were cheered on, and it was obvious to everyone that we were there for one another.
    • SERVICE: Wow! From all of our timers to everyone who helped set-up and take-down, from our officials and clerk of course parents to our coaches and everyone who helped out at the Crab Shack, as a community we came together, solved problems, met needs, and had a great time doing it. Which leads us to the last point:
    • FUN! All of this amounted to just having a fun time together as a community. But it wasn't just us! The Board President of the Dolphins emailed to say, “Our entire team had a blast swimming at your pool and we have nothing but positive things to say about the entire day.”

So, thanks to everyone for the part you played to make yesterday’s meet such a success. I am grateful we get to do all of this together. You can view the complete results here and, once available, you will be able to view photos from the meet here (these are also available by clicking “Meets & Events” in our website menu).

This post contains a list of Shout-Outs, information about our Monday's fundraiser at Manhattan Pizza, our picture night on Thursday, our Potluck Dinner on Friday, and our practice schedule and details for this week. Also, please note that there are no practices this Wednesday, 6/19.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on their amazing accomplishments!

One more shout-out goes to Ryan Mayer. Ryan offered to do donut pick-up this past Friday so that our swimmers could enjoy a treat after practice. Not only did Ryan happily pick them up, he also picked up the tab. This was not the expectation, entirely unnecessary, yet wonderfully generous, reflecting so many of our priorities as a team. If you see Ryan, please be sure to thank him!
